Zhenan Molybdenum Rod - What is so special about it?

1. Unique performance

Excellent high temperature resistance: The melting point of molybdenum is as high as 2620℃. Molybdenum rods can maintain stable physical and chemical properties in high temperature environments, can withstand high temperatures of about 1700℃, can effectively resist high temperature and oxidation corrosion, and play an important role in the manufacture of high temperature equipment such as gas turbines and rocket engines in the aerospace field.

Excellent mechanical properties: It has high strength, high hardness and good fatigue resistance. Its strength can also be well maintained at high temperatures, so that molybdenum rods can still maintain excellent performance under high load and impact environments, and can be used to manufacture parts that withstand huge pressure and stress.

Strong corrosion resistance: It has good corrosion resistance to most chemical substances and can be used for a long time in harsh chemical environments, such as in high temperature reactors, high temperature pipelines and other equipment in the chemical industry, and can resist the erosion of corrosive media.

Good electrical and thermal conductivity: It has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and can quickly transfer heat and current, so that it can be used in the electronics industry to manufacture electrodes, thermal resistors and other components, and in the glass industry, it can be used as electrodes and heaters in glass furnaces.

Low thermal expansion coefficient: The thermal expansion coefficient of molybdenum rods is small, and its size changes relatively little when the temperature changes greatly, which enables it to better maintain the stability of the structure when used with other materials and reduce the stress and deformation caused by thermal expansion differences.

2. Special classification

Classification by surface state
Sintered molybdenum rod: The surface is silver-gray and has a metallic luster.
Forged molybdenum rod: There is a layer of black oxide on the surface.
Moulding molybdenum rod: The surface has a metallic luster and good flatness, but it is relatively rough.
Polished molybdenum rod: The surface has a silver-gray metallic luster, the surface is smooth, and the dimensional error is small.

Classification by material
Pure molybdenum rod: The molybdenum content is greater than 99.95%, mainly used in high-temperature environments with strict purity requirements.
High temperature molybdenum rod (molybdenum-lanthanum alloy rod): contains 0.4%-1.2% lanthanum, and the molybdenum content is the remainder excluding impurities. It can remain stable at temperatures up to 2000℃. Compared with ordinary molybdenum rods, it is not easy to become brittle in long-term high temperature environments, and has better processing performance.
TZM molybdenum rod: contains 0.4%-0.6% Ti, 0.07%-0.12% Zr and 0.01%-0.05% C. It has higher strength, hardness and heat resistance, and is often used to manufacture high-temperature structural parts and molds.

3. Special processing technology

Powder metallurgy process: molybdenum powder is pressed and sintered to make molybdenum rod blanks. This method can accurately control the composition and density of molybdenum rods and obtain high-performance molybdenum rod products.

Forging process: Forging the molybdenum rod blank, by applying pressure to make it plastically deformed, the density of the molybdenum rod can be increased, its internal structure can be improved, higher mechanical properties can be obtained, and the surface can be strengthened.

Rolling process: The molybdenum rod undergoes continuous plastic deformation under the pressure of the rotating roller to obtain the required cross-sectional shape and performance, and molybdenum rod products of different specifications and shapes can be produced.

Heat treatment process: After forging and rolling processes, the molybdenum rod is heat treated to eliminate the internal structural stress of the material, exert the material properties, and make the material easier for subsequent mechanical processing.

4. Wide application

Aerospace field: Molybdenum rods are used to manufacture high-temperature components such as blades and turbine disks of gas turbines, nozzle throat liners and combustion chambers of rocket engines, and spacecraft thermal protection systems, etc., to ensure the reliability and safety of equipment in extreme high temperature environments.
Nuclear industry field: Molybdenum rods can be used to prepare fuel claddings and nuclear reactor pressure vessels of nuclear reactors. They have good radiation resistance and oxidation resistance and can work stably in nuclear radiation environments.
Electronic industry: Molybdenum rods are important materials for manufacturing components such as electrodes, thermal resistors, isolation plates, vacuum packaging, etc. They are also commonly used in the manufacture of electronic tubes, semiconductor devices, integrated circuits, etc. Their high purity and high thermal conductivity characteristics help improve the performance and stability of electronic equipment.
Glass industry: Due to its excellent high temperature resistance and thermal conductivity, molybdenum rods are often used in electrodes and heaters in glass furnaces. They can also be used to manufacture glass fibers and their processing equipment.
