Silicon metal 3303 in its solid, bulk form is generally safe to touch with bare hands as it is chemically stable at room temperature and does not readily react with skin.
However, prolonged or frequent contact with silicon metal powder or dust can cause mechanical irritation to the skin and eyes due to its coarse, abrasive particles. Industrial handling requires protective gloves and clothing to prevent cumulative exposure, as fine particles may embed in the skin or transfer to mucous membranes. While bulk silicon poses minimal risk, dust exposure should be minimized through proper hygiene and protective equipment.
